ReSTOR Lens

The AcrySof ReSTOR Lens is an artificial intraocular lens or IOL, meaning it is used for implant into the eye once the natural lens is removed. The ReSTOR Lens is unique because it is the first IOL made from a specially designed foldable material, and because it allows patients to have clear vision at all distances through apodized diffractive optics, a high tech system of light diffraction. The ReSTOR Lens has been implanted in more than 21 million eyes and is currently regarded as the most widely used IOL today. In addition to the unique technology it offers, ReSTOR Lens is also hailed as an IOL that delivers great visual results and continuous comfort.

In a recent clinical study, 94% of patients said they would have the AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL implanted again.

The ReSTOR Lens may be recommended for patients who suffer from cataract development, presbyopia, and/or nearsightedness or farsightedness. During implantation, the surgeon creates a small incision in the patient's outer eye. The natural lens is removed using ultrasound technology and the ReSTOR Lens inserted.
