Lasik from Japan

Dr Lewis and the Cherry Creek staff;

I just wanted to write a note thanking you for all that you've done for me. It's been more than a month since I've had my surgery and the results have been amazing. What a strange feeling it was realizing that I hadn't left my contacts in when I woke up in the mornings! I had no problem adjusting though, and now I feel as though I never wore glasses at all. So many doors are now open to me that before were closed because of my vision impairment. What really made my experience all the more worth-while was the professionalism, courtesy and genuine interest that you all showed me during my visits to your clinic and the surgery center. You were especially helpful in answering all of my questions and concerns, even though I was overseas! Even though I am in the military, and laser surgery is available and free, I am grateful that I found your clinic and have no regrets with my choice.

I would recommend your services to anyone interested in eye surgery. If you were to show them half the same thoughtfulness and care you have shown me, they would still be in excellent hands! Thanks again!

Blepharoplasty Lid Surgery

"I now know why Stuart A. Lewis, M.D., Cherry Creek Eye Center, was voted by Doctors in Denver as the best eye physician and surgeon, in the area. Dr. Lewis recently performed an upper and lower blepharoplasty on me. It has only been one week since the surgery and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. He did a fabulous job, and I experienced little discomfort. I would recommend him to anyone considering this surgery, whether it be for medical or cosmetic purposes. He certainly is the best eye physician and surgeon, in Denver."

Recent Cataract Surgery - Dr. Lewis

I had cataract surgery on one eye a week ago today and I can't tell you how excited I am. I put it off for a couple of years, not knowing what to expect. The operation was a "piece of cake" and the next day found out that my vision in that eye is now 20/20!!!! Dr. Lewis did a great job so I have now scheduled to have the other eye done. So if you have been putting this off like I have, give Dr. Lewis a call so he can take care of it.

ilasik Results

Dr. Lewis and everyone at the Cherry Creek Eye Physicians and Surgeons, P.C. at the Cherry Creek Eye Center:
I wanted to write and say thank you for the great experience I had with the Intralase Laser Surgery I had last October. As you know, I wanted LASIK for years, but had an intense fear of going under the blade. Even after hearing about the Intralase process last year I was nervous (to say the least). Over the summer, when I couldn't swim with my two young kids because I didn't want to lose my contacts, I finally decided to place my trust in you and give it a go. Let me assure anyone out there who wants this procedure but is afraid - just do it! The results are absolutely amazing. I could see 20/20 in one eye the very next day and within four days both eyes were perfect. I love waking up in the morning and being able to see the clock. I love not having dry eyes or worrying about falling asleep with my contacts in. I love not having to wear glasses, or having to remember to pack them when I go on a trip. This is a life changing procedure! Every aspect of the procedure was completed professionally and with high regard to my situation. Never once did I feel uncomfortable or even feel embarrassed about being so scared. Now that it's over, I can honestly laugh at my fear. The procedure is so simple, quick and accurate! I would highly recommend Dr. Lewis and his team to anyone whom is interested in LASIK. In fact, I'm already trying to convert all of my friends and family who are in glasses or contacts! Thanks again for never pressuring me to have the procedure, but for keeping me updated on improvements and the benefits of the process. Thanks for being so patient! And finally, thanks for giving me the vision I have now! If you have any patients who are on the fence, please let them know my story. If I could do it anyone can!
Best regards,
Lara Weiler

Multifocal Implants

Just dropping a note to update you on my progress. I'm doing really well with the new bifocal lens after my cataract surgery. Day vision is really crisp (who knew colors were so bright?!) Night vision is much better than it was, still some halos, but there are less and less of those all the time. I actually have forgotten lately that I even had a vision problem. I have to remind myself that I had the surgery! I guess that's kind of it in a nutshell, really, I went from being legally blind in my right eye, to forgetting I had a problem, over the course of about a month. Not bad. I told my sister, it's like going from looking at an impressionist painting, to looking at a photograph. I can't thank you enough. And your staff through the entire process was superb. Wish that was always how doctor's offices ran! Thank you again.

This is amazing!

I had put off lasik all these years. I've worn glasses since I was 11, and tried contacts for a few months in my 20s, but always found them to be an annoyance. I finally spoke with Dr. Lewis about lasik, and he talked with me about the benefits of Intralase, the newest bladeless technology. I decided to try it. I was pretty nervous; after all, it's my eyes!
I spoke with a friend who'd had the original blade-style surgery 20 years ago, and she said it was about the best thing she'd ever done, and knew I would feel the same.
The staff and professionals at Cherry Creek Eye Physicians and Clarity Laser Vision Center were so knowledgeable, friendly, supportive and helpful. The procedure was simple; no pain. And fast! I already see very well, both up close and from a distance, and it's only supposed to get better over the next few weeks! I can't believe I can see well without glasses! What a hoot!! Thanks, Dr. Lewis and everybody!

Care and Concern

During my sixty-eight years, I have been in my share of doctors' offices. The first challenge is trying to get an appointment.

When I called your office yesterday, I couldn't even say I was a regular patient of yours. Nor did I plead or cajole. I merely said I had crusting on my eye lids and that I was leaving for a month. The woman who took my call told me to come in today at 11:45. When I knew snow would slow a few people, I called at 8:30 to see if I could come in earlier. "of course," she said.

You saw me within fifteen minutes. With others waiting to see you, I felt as if you had all the time I needed.

I have given this sentence a great deal of thought and know it to be true. "In my 68 years, I have never experienced the care and concern that I received today."

I look forward to a long relationship!

Problem Solved

In 1997 I elected to have LASIK surgery done at a clinic in Arizona. I decided to do both eyes at the same time to reduce travel to and from Arizona. Two gigantic mistakes! The surgery resulted in everything that could go wrong going wrong. During the next two years the clinic in Arizona tried but couldn't get my vision much past 20/200 with halos and shadows. During the entire time Dr. Lewis was with me encouraging, doctoring and giving advice. When I finally decided enough was enough with the folks in Arizona, Dr. Lewis took over and provided me with careful, calculated, totally professional, eye care that provided and continues to get quality results. When we started together, I was a graphic designer who could no longer see in 3D. Worse than that, if you were a small dog or a two year old child, I wouldn't have seen you in the road. Needless to say, I restricted myself to driving only when absolutely necessary, which was unacceptable. Dr. Lewis went to work, and during countless visits (his patience and his tenacity is endless), he produced unbelievable results and continues to do so today. We started with seeing the big "E" and today I have pretty close to 20/20 vision. I drive, play golf, and ski with no restrictions. I don't think any other ophthalmologist would have given me the care, the consideration, or the encouragement that Dr. Lewis provided. Would I recommend him to others? In a heartbeat! In my 56 years, Dr. Lewis is the finest physician I've had to pleasure and the privilege to meet. I would trust him in any circumstances.

Amazed!

It's been a month since I had my intralase Lasik procedure and I'm so glad I did it. It took me a long time to decide but I figured that the sooner I did it the longer I'd have to enjoy my new vision and I felt I could trust Dr. Lewis. I was nervous. People would give cautionary advice, 'but you only have one pair of eyes...' and honestly, had I been given a detailed description of the procedure I might not have gone through with it. However, the procedure lasted less than 20 minutes total and despite the discomfort and pain, I went to sleep at home and when I woke up several hours later, I could see and the pain was gone. Now, I barely even need lubricating eye drops, I don't see halos (those lasted 2 days), and my vision is better than it was with my contacts. Best of all, I've already forgotten what it felt like to always have to think about having contact lense supplies and/or my glasses. Thank you so much to Dr. Lewis and his staff for taking such good care of me.

"Waited Long Enough"

Dr. Stuart Lewis has been my phsysician for over 10 years. Every year at my annual appointment we would discuss Lasik surgery and every year I would say, "maybe next year" and "next year" never came.

At my annual check ups Dr. Lewis would always go over all the in's and out's with me in the most professional and courteous manner possible, but maybe it was fear, maybe just apprehension but I never could pull the trigger.

About 7 weeks ago I was in Dr Lewis's office and there were 3 of his patients that had Lasik surgery the previous day. After much discussion and every question you can imagine and the fact that the worst eyesight of the 3 of them was 20-20..... I took it a a sign that my time has come.

Between the professionalism of Dr. Lewis and his entire staff and the fact that they are just so sincere and nice, the cutting edge technology of my Intra Lasik surgery was absolutely a perfect experience.

At 54 years old my eyesight was 20-15 the day after surgery. As a matter of fact, my 27 year old son flew in from Scottsdale last week and also had the Intra Lasik procedure done by Dr. Lewis. Here is a young man that has had to wear glasses/contacts lens since the 4th grade. He called a little while ago, 3 days after surgery and believes his sight is sharper that the 20-15 he tested the day after surgery!!

I know this is a bit long winded but you talk about a life changer!!!

Thank you Dr. Lewis and your wonderful staff. I am glad I waited but I am also sure I waited just long enough!

Ten Years After

In December of 1998, I took a leap of faith and it changed my life.
I had worn glasses since I was 6 and I had been told I was legally blind and had a strong astigmatism -- although with contacts or glasses I could see fine. I am an athlete -- skier, mountain biker, swimmer, tennis player -- and good vision is critical to enjoying these sports. Contacts were a hassle and my glasses looked like Coke bottles. I had looked into RK surgery years before and decided to wait.

Dr Lewis was recommended to me by several people I knew who had successful Lasik surgery performed by him. I decided to check it out -- even though I had pretty much already decided to wait a few years until the technology improved. Dr Lewis informed me that my eyes were at the limit of what Lasik could correct, and further I had thin corneas. What that meant was that we had one shot at the surgery -- no re-dos would be possible. In spite of all this, Dr Lewis inspired confidence in me and we scheduled the surgery. I elected to do both eyes at once. My mom questioned my decision, but I told her 'it just felt right'.

It took all of about 5 minutes and when I walked out of the office I could see perfectly. Later that day I went for a run -- probably not recommended, but no problems. Two days later, I went skiing -- definitely not recommended, but I was careful and again, no problems. In fact, I had literally no discomfort or vision problems AT ALL after my Lasik. I went from legally blind to 20/20 in minutes! As I said, it changed my life -- no contacts, no glasses, all my sports improved and camping got a lot easier!

Ten Years later, I wear drugstore 'readers' (I AM 56, after all!) when I work on my computer or read in low light. My vision is still crisp and clear. Every year when I have my annual visit to Dr Lewis, he checks my vision and remarks "damn, I'm good!" -- I couldn't agree more.

Cataract Surgery and LRI

I had a combination surgery to remove a large cataract and limbal relaxing incisions last Thursday. It was efficient and painless at Cherry Creek Eye Center with Dr. Stuart Lewis. The nurses in the outpatient clinic were stellar, efficient and friendly, helpful and soothing. I had a good experience from beginning to end. I found it miraculous when Dr. Lewis removed the eye patch on Friday and I could see better than I had in two years. I had a retina detatchment in the eye two years ago and it has been a long road back from the edge of blindness.

Thanks to the Dr. Lewis, the Cherry Creek Eye Center and Dr. Douglas Holmes who saved my retina in the first place. You are the greatest.
