Is blepharoplasty effective?

For nearly all patients, blepharoplasty rejuvenates the eye area through surgical removal of excess skin and fat. Depending on what a patient hopes to accomplish through surgery, blepharoplasty may be a candidate's best option. Dr. Lewis discusses all of a person's cosmetic goals and the benefits of this procedure during the consultation.

What is the healing time following eyelid surgery?

After a blepharoplasty procedure, most patients will observe minimal swelling or bruising that will subside within 7-14 days. Although light activity can be resumed just a couple days after the procedure, more strenuous activities should be resumed as per Dr. Lewis's directions.

How much experience do you have performing this procedure?

Would blepharoplasty or BOTOX® give me a better result?

That depends on a patient's cosmetic goals. If he or she wishes to permanently remove excess fat and skin for a firmer, younger-looking eye appearance, blepharoplasty may be the wisest choice. On the other hand, if a patient desires a temporary, non-surgical solution to surface wrinkling, he or she may want to consider BOTOX®.
